Visa Requirements
Types of visas required and their conditions
Citizens of 60+ countries (US, UK, EU, Japan, Korea, etc.) enter visa-free for up to 90 days. Passport should be valid for 6 months.

Required Documents & Pre-registration
Arrival cards, health declarations, and other preparations
From Oct 2025 all visitors must submit the free online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) within 3 days before arrival. Also carry a return ticket and accommodation details.

Pre-arrival procedure — Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC): free online arrival card, required for foreign visitors (from 1 Oct 2025). Submit within 3 days before arrival; no printout needed at entry. Beware paid look-alike sites.

How to submit
- 1 Open the official site twac.immigration.gov.tw and start a new arrival card.
- 2 Enter passport and personal information.
- 3 Enter travel details and your address in Taiwan.
- 4 Review all entries and correct any errors.
- 5 Submit; the record is electronic, so no printout is needed at immigration (save the confirmation).

Cash Import Limits
Declaration-free limits and procedures for excess amounts
Declare foreign currency over USD 10,000, cash NT$ over NT$100,000, and CNY over CNY 20,000 on arrival. Non-declaration risks penalties.

Items that are strictly forbidden from import
Drugs, weapons and counterfeits are banned. Meat products are strictly prohibited to keep out African Swine Fever, with heavy fines.

Medication Import Rules
