Katsuren-jo Site

Katsuren Castle Site is a spectacular gusuku built on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Katsuren Peninsula. It is closely associated with Amawari, a powerful 15th-century lord who prospered through overseas trade. The castle's elegant stone walls and panoramic ocean views make it one of Okinawa's most impressive historic sites.
