Sonohyan-utaki Ishimon
簡介
Sonohyan-utaki Ishimon is a traditional limestone gate located near Shuri Castle. It was an important sacred site where prayers were offered for the safety of the king before journeys throughout the kingdom. The gate represents the close relationship between royal authority, architecture, and traditional Ryukyuan spiritual beliefs.
