Cyprus has two main airports, Larnaca (LCA) and Paphos (PFO). There is no railway, so getting into the cities means the airport shuttle bus (such as Kapnos Airport Shuttle), a taxi or a rental car. Shuttles link the airports with Nicosia, Limassol and other towns; taxis are quicker but pricier.

Public transport in Cyprus is bus-based; there are no trams or metro. Each city has its own bus company (for example Nicosia is served by the OSEL/Cyprus Public Transport network and Limassol by EMEL). The Motion app helps plan routes and buy tickets. Buses are the main option, though services can be less frequent than in larger European cities.

Cyprus does not have a single nationwide smart card. Instead, each regional bus operator issues its own reloadable bus card (for example a Nicosia or Limassol bus card), and you can also buy single or day tickets on board or via the Motion app. Tickets are cheaper when bought in advance than paid in cash to the driver.

Taxis are the main on-demand option in Cyprus, with metered urban taxis and rural (agrotiko) taxis. Ride-hailing is limited: the local app Cabcy operates in parts of the island, while Uber is generally not available. Ask the driver to use the meter, or agree the fare in advance for longer trips.

There is no railway in Cyprus, so intercity travel is by intercity bus or car. Intercity buses link the main towns — Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Ayia Napa — at low fares, though schedules can be limited, especially in the evenings and on weekends. A rental car gives the most flexibility for exploring the island.

Cyprus is a small island, so there are effectively no scheduled domestic flights — distances between towns are short and easily covered by road. Larnaca and Paphos airports are used mainly for international routes. To get around the island, use an intercity bus or a rental car rather than flying.
