Main operators are Movistar, Vodafone, Orange and Yoigo. Prepaid tourist SIMs are sold at airports, operator stores and some shops; bring your passport for registration. Roaming is free between EU/EEA countries.

How to make international calls and alternatives
Spain's country code is +34. For emergencies dial 112 (the single EU number). Spanish numbers have 9 digits with no leading 0; from abroad dial +34 then the full 9-digit number. Messaging apps over data are cheapest for staying in touch.
