The main operators are Magyar Telekom (Telekom), Yettel (formerly Telenor) and Vodafone (One), with good nationwide 4G/5G. Prepaid SIMs are sold at shops, kiosks and supermarkets, and ID may be needed to register. EU visitors can use their home plan at no extra cost ("roam like at home").

Hungary's country code is +36. The unified emergency number is 112; police is 107, ambulance 104 and fire 105. App-based calls (WhatsApp and similar) are common. Save numbers in full +36 format so they work from any network.
