Georgia uses 220V / 50Hz with Type C and Type F sockets (European two round pins). Bring a Type C/F adapter; travellers from 100–120V countries need a converter for devices that are not dual-voltage.

The main operators are Magti, Silknet and Cellfie, with good 4G/5G in cities and along main roads. Prepaid tourist SIMs are cheap and easy to buy at the airport, operator shops and kiosks; bring your passport for registration.

eSIM travel plans are a convenient option and are increasingly available for Georgia: buy one online before arrival and install it in minutes, with no physical SIM or shop visit. Local operators are also expanding eSIM support.

Wi-Fi is widely available in hotels, guesthouses, cafés and restaurants across Tbilisi, Batumi and other towns, and the airports offer free Wi-Fi. Quality is generally good in cities. Use a VPN on public networks for sensitive tasks like banking.

Georgia has an open internet with no significant restrictions. All standard apps and services — messaging, social media, maps and streaming — work normally.

Handy apps include Bolt (the leading ride-hailing app) and Yandex Go for taxis, the TTC app for Tbilisi public transport, plus maps and translation. Card payments are widely accepted in cities, though carry some cash for markets and rural areas.

Georgia's country code is +995. App-based calls (WhatsApp, Viber, FaceTime and similar) are very common and cheap. With a local prepaid SIM you can also call normally. Save numbers in full +995 format so they work from any network.
