Arrival cards, health declarations, and other preparations
At the border you may be asked to show supporting documents in addition to your passport. These can include a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation (a hotel booking or an address), evidence of sufficient funds for your stay, and travel insurance. Pre-arrival procedure — Georgia e-Visa: nationalities that are not visa-exempt can apply online on the official e-Visa portal evisa.gov.ge (run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), pay the fee and receive the approved e-Visa by email (processing is often around 5 working days). Additional steps apply: a mandatory DuVerify identity check (an extra fee, reported around USD 15) after the application, and mandatory travel insurance covering the whole stay for tourists (from 2026). Many nationalities are visa-free for stays, so check eligibility first. Use only the official portal.

Cash Import Limits
Declaration-free limits and procedures for excess amounts
If you enter or leave Georgia carrying cash at or above the declaration threshold (broadly the equivalent of about USD 30,000 in cash and monetary instruments), you must declare it to customs. Smaller amounts do not need declaring. Failure to declare can lead to fines or seizure, so complete a cash declaration when required and keep proof of the origin of large sums.
