The signature confection of San Marino, its name meaning 'cake of the three mountains'. Thin baked wafers are layered many times over, with chocolate and hazelnut cream between them, and the surface too is coated in chocolate. The name refers to Monte Titano, on which the three towers that symbolise the country stand. Loved for its crisp texture and rich sweetness, it is also widely enjoyed as a souvenir.
