Transit Visa Requirements
When a transit visa is needed
Transit visa: Schengen rules apply. Airport Transit Visa (ATV) required for listed nationalities.
Condition: Must remain in the transit area. Madrid Barajas is a major European hub.
⚠ Iberia/oneworld connections available within T4 without leaving transit.

Minimum connection time: 75 minutes at Madrid Barajas for same-terminal.
Terminal change: T4 and T4S connected by automated train (3 min). T1–T3 separate.
⚠ Madrid T4/T4S is very large. Allow extra walking time.
