Transit Procedures

Transit visa: Transit visa required for some nationalities. Others can transit without visa if staying airside.

Condition: Must not leave the international transit area. Connection within 24 hours.

⚠ Delhi and Mumbai have transit facilities. Check Indian TVOA (Transit Visa on Arrival) eligibility.

Facilities: Good at Delhi T3 and Mumbai T2: duty-free, restaurants, lounges, and art installations.

Food & drink: Indian and international dining options.

Rest & showers: Plaza Premium and airline lounges with showers. Holiday Inn at Delhi T3.

Minimum connection time: 90 minutes at Delhi T3 and Mumbai T2 for same-terminal connections.

Terminal change: Delhi: T1 (domestic) to T3 (international) requires shuttle (30 min). Allow 150+ minutes.

Baggage transfer: Bags transferred on same booking at Delhi T3 and Mumbai T2.

Re-check required: Required for international-to-domestic on separate tickets.

Immigration: Not required for airside transit (eligible nationalities).

Leaving the airport: eVisa or VOA for eligible nationalities to explore during long layovers.

⚠ Some nationalities require transit visa even for airside.

Airport hotel: Holiday Inn Express at Delhi T3 (airside). Hotels near Mumbai T2.

Sleep options: Plaza Premium and airline lounges with rest areas. Delhi T3 has transit hotel.
