Looking for a Bangkok hotel where you can enjoy shopping, restaurants and a relaxing hotel stay? Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, a large Marriott hotel in the Phrom Phong area, is worth considering.
During my stay, I particularly enjoyed the spacious outdoor swimming pool, the executive lounge’s outdoor area, the extensive breakfast at Goji Kitchen and the relaxed atmosphere of ABar Rooftop. Here is what to know before booking.
Location: Phrom Phong and Sukhumvit
The hotel is located along Soi 22 in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area, approximately a 10-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong station. EmSphere, one of the area’s major shopping malls, is nearby.
There is a Lawson convenience store directly opposite the hotel, while the surrounding streets have plenty of restaurants, massage shops and bars. The neighborhood felt particularly suitable for adults who enjoy dining and drinks rather than being exclusively focused on family activities.
Phrom Phong offers excellent shopping options, including Emporium and EmQuartier, in addition to EmSphere. Asok station is also roughly a 15-minute walk away, making the hotel a practical base for exploring the Sukhumvit area.
The main drawback is the walk to the BTS station. Bangkok traffic can also become extremely congested in the late afternoon, so allow extra time if you plan to travel by taxi.
A Large Hotel with a Spacious Outdoor Pool
The scale of the property is immediately noticeable. The hotel is divided into two main wings, with a large outdoor swimming pool in the open space between them.
The pool is impressively spacious and is a great feature for guests who want to enjoy some resort-style relaxation without leaving central Bangkok.
One important note: be careful when taking photographs around the pool. I once tried to take a few souvenir photos and was gently reprimanded regarding photography. Check the current rules with staff and respect other guests’ privacy before taking pictures.
An Outdoor Executive Lounge to Enjoy the Evening Breeze
One of my favorite parts of the stay was the outdoor area of the executive lounge on an upper floor.
The lounge has both indoor and outdoor seating. There was a good selection of food and a variety of alcoholic drinks, making it a pleasant place to unwind in the evening. Enjoying the breeze while having food and drinks was particularly relaxing.
After a day exploring Bangkok, this is an appealing place to slow down and enjoy some time at the hotel.
Smoking areas are restricted, so do not assume smoking is permitted throughout the property. Check with the staff about the designated outdoor areas. Access to the executive lounge, opening hours and food and beverage offerings may vary depending on your room package and membership benefits.
ABar Rooftop: A Relaxed Bar for Adults
The hotel is also home to ABar Rooftop.
It has a sophisticated, relaxed atmosphere that seems well suited to couples and groups of friends who want to enjoy drinks and conversation. During my visit, it felt more like a place for a leisurely evening than a high-energy nightclub.
I did not confirm whether DJ equipment or regular music events were available, so check the latest information if entertainment is a priority.
Goji Kitchen: An Exceptionally Large Breakfast Restaurant
Goji Kitchen was one of the largest hotel breakfast restaurants I encountered during my stays in Bangkok.
There are indoor and outdoor seating areas. The indoor dining space is enormous; it felt almost as though it could occupy half a football field.
The food selection was extensive, featuring Thai cuisine, Indian dishes and food from various other countries. Smoothies, fresh fruit and different types of bread were also particularly noticeable.
The outdoor breakfast area, however, is considerably smaller than the indoor space. If you specifically want to sit outside, availability may depend on how busy the restaurant is.
For travelers who value breakfast variety and a substantial morning meal, Goji Kitchen is one of the hotel’s major attractions.
A Spacious Lobby with a Piano and Bar Atmosphere
The reception area on the ground floor is also large and open. There is a piano, and live performances may take place at times.
The surrounding space has a relaxed bar-like atmosphere. It looked like a pleasant place to sit with a drink and unwind without going back out into the city.
Comfortable Rooms with Updated Interiors
I understood that the property had previously operated under another hotel identity before being rebranded. Nevertheless, the room I stayed in felt clean and well maintained, and I did not find its interior particularly dated.
With a large pool, lounge facilities and an extensive breakfast restaurant, the hotel offers plenty to enjoy beyond the guest room itself.
Important Information for Smokers
Smoking is only permitted in designated areas. During my stay, these included the outdoor lounge area and an outdoor spot near the parking area.
The permitted locations and rules can change, so confirm the current arrangements with hotel staff when checking in.
Final Verdict
Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park is a strong option for travelers who want convenient access to Phrom Phong’s shopping malls while enjoying extensive hotel facilities.
The highlights of my stay were the large outdoor pool, the breezy outdoor executive lounge, the impressive breakfast at Goji Kitchen and the relaxed atmosphere of ABar Rooftop.
The approximately 10-minute walk to BTS Phrom Phong and Bangkok’s evening traffic are worth considering. However, EmSphere, Emporium and EmQuartier are all within reach, and Asok is also accessible on foot.
If you want a Bangkok stay that combines shopping, dining and time to relax at the hotel, this property deserves a place on your shortlist.
