A street-food specialty born at the Forodhani Gardens night market in Stone Town. Thinly rolled dough is folded around fillings of minced meat, vegetables and egg, then griddled like a crêpe. Quite unlike Italian pizza, it is fragrant with spices befitting the Spice Islands, and a sweet version with banana and chocolate is popular too. It is an evening dish savoured in the sea breeze.
