Sadza (Maize Porridge)
About
An indispensable staple of the Zimbabwean table: a chewy, firm dough made by kneading white maize meal with hot water. Bland in taste, it is eaten with strongly flavoured sides such as stewed meat and vegetables, boiled leafy greens and bean stews. It is customary to shape it into small balls by hand and dip them into the dish or sauce. A rustic national food that sustains people's daily life.
