Oil Down
About
Regarded as Grenada's national dish, a hearty one-pot stew. Salted meat, breadfruit, green banana, dumplings and the island's own spices simmer slowly in coconut milk until the liquid cooks off and the oil and flavour 'go down' to the bottom, giving the dish its name. Shared from a big pot with friends, it is a plate that symbolises island life and celebration.
